It seems like Microsoft is making a lot of noise about their new Windows 7 phone software update nicknamed “ Mango” released yesterday morning. it looks like the new update brings better integration with social applications like Facebook, tweeter, Xbox, and other cloud services offered by Microsoft. but my question is, is there any improvement on the phone for people wanting to do something productive with it? because the last time I checked, Windows 7 phone could not even search Outlook Global Address Book on Exchange 2003!

of course you can call us dinosaurs for still running Exchange 2003 in our organization, but I bet many many businesses out of there still running Exchange 2003 as their mail server, and there is no excuse for Microsoft for not allowing people to search contacts on Exchange 2003 in their Windows 7 phones. the iPhone does, Android does, blackberries do. so why Microsoft does not enable support to search the global address book in Exchange 2003?
Greed. perhaps?
They want us to upgrade to exchange 2010 so they can make even more dough on hefty license fees they charge for their exchange software? come on Microsoft, stop concentrating on your pockets, and start building technology that helps people. Android supported global address search since the beginning, so why Microsoft that owns exchange and the Windows 7 phone software does not support it?
it does not make any sense to me.
you might be thinking, who the f—k cares that Windows 7 Phone cannot search Outlook Global Contacts. believe me a lot of business people do. we purchased a couple of HD7 phones from T-mobile for a couple of our VIPs, and all of them were returned because of this feature being missing. it pissed me off.
anyways, that’s my rambling about Windows 7 phones. at the end of the tunnel, Windows 7 phones look cool, and though limited on functionalities they seem to be pretty stable, so probably in a hundred years Microsoft will be able to compete with Android and the iPhone side by side. till then, I’ll stick with my Android phone.
c ya.
…………….Windows Phone 7 may not be a business device first and foremost but it does support multiple Microsoft Exchange accounts to view your email and calendars..We take a look around the UI in our video…
