What’s The Best Spyware Removal Tool ?
back in 2005 or 2006 if you asked me to recommend a good spyware removal tool, I would probably recommend ad-adware, but now is 2009, and technology evolves pretty fast, and other spyware removal tools have come along with better results than ad-adware. is not that there always were better spyware removal tools than ad-adware, but back then ad-adware was the most popular one, and indeed it was pretty good, but now it seems to be a resource hog, and when carrying tests with other spyware removal tools, ad-adware ranks pretty low.
So, what’s the best spyware removal tool? the best spyware removal tool there is right now is malwarebytes, like I said above, there might be other good free or commercial spyware removal tools, but according to the tests I have carried out with malwarebytes against other spyware tools like ad-adware, spywareblaster, spybot, Windows defender, and some other ones I can’t recall right now, and malwarebytes has always come up with better results.
Malwarebytes is very clean, which is a plus when people are not very technology oriented. it only has two options at the scanner tab to perform a quick or full scan on your computer, then at the end it displays the findings with the option to remove them:
this is one of the things I was never happy with ad-adware, in ad-adware at the end of the scan you have to click on another tab, and then select the threats the program found and select them and then click on the remove button. that’s kind of stupid, if you are scanning the computer because you suspect there might be spyware, why you have to click on another tab, and select the result threats and then remove them? many people I observed using ad-adware simply clicked on the remove button without selecting the threats, and were thrown back to the main program interface without removing anything, they had to re-scan the computer again if they wanted to remove the spyware.
for now, I believe malwarebytes is the best spyware removal tool, probably next year another one will come along, and malwarebytes will be another program in the pile, but for now I’m happy with the results.
note – there might be some commercial spyware removal tools that might perform better than malwarebytes, but for those you have to shell some dough, and I normally don’t review commercial software – even though malwarebytes is commercial, they have a free version which is pretty good for most of home spyware problems.
